Coming soon: We’re excited to hear that Richmond is about to get its own jelly! If you’ve not heard the expression before, it’s a co-working event where people get together to network while going about their business. It will be held every month at a cafe in town – pencil in Tuesday 4th March for the first one and then the 1st Tuesday thereafter for the RBN Ruby Tuesday at As you like it and we’ll bring you more details later this week.

Other news
A fire crew from Richmond has joined other Yorkshire colleagues to help flood-victims in the south with one of the county’s two high volume pumps. Dave Dryburgh from North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “The high volume pump can effectively pump water over kilometres and probably four or five times the amount a normal fire appliance can.”

The winners got a plaque but we were disappointed that we didn’t even get a certificate at the end – just a bacon sandwich.

Richmond bakers at Angel’s Share end the television competition as disappointed runners up.

In a ceremony at Catterick, Khop Jung Gurung made history by becoming the first Gurkha to complete his military training with a British battalion in over a decade.

What’s On
The Georgian Theatre Royal book club is considering JK Rowling’s Casual Vacancy on Wednesday. Find out more about this and other events on this month at our February events noticeboard here and feel free to publicise your own events (for free) there too.
