Not just art and coffee – artist creates new workshop space at Friary Gardens

IMG_2921Congratulations to Lou Gilmore-George who has achieved her life ambition of opening up a gallery in Richmond.

The Ellerton-based artist has opened Jacalou Junction in Victoria Road, at the site of the former tourist information centre next to Friary Gardens.

She told the Northern Echo about her venture:

“There are other art galleries in Richmond, but are more like retail spaces than somewhere people could have a go at projects themselves. We will be holding regular workshops on a wide range of skills including knitting and crochet, printmaking, and silver jewellery making.”

You can read the full interview here or visit the gallery website here.
